An EC device is an application of electrochromic technology, where EC stands for Electrochromic (Electrochromic). EC electrochromic devices are typically constructed of multiple layers, including two transparent conductive electrodes sandwiched between an electrolyte, an electrochromic layer, and a reflective layer. In application, when a voltage is applied, ions in the electrolyte will move between the electrodes, changing the absorption characteristics of the electrochromic layer, thereby changing the color of the device. This technology is widely used in smart windows, automotive glass and sunglasses to achieve adjustable light transmission and reflection performance, improve comfort and energy saving effects.
